Dear Parents,

REMINDER for students to get their Secret Santa in for Friday. You do not need to go out of your way, just something small to open.  We do not want any students to miss out, so please get them in.

Also we have put in a lot effort for Friday and it should be a great day with a quiz and prizes for the students. We have organised the students into groups and would love all to come along!

From all of us to all of you we hope you have a fantastic break with loads of quality time together.

Reminder there are NO coats or hats in the lunch room. This has been an issue the last few weeks.
Students in MYP3 are also monitoring screen time in I&S. Please remind your child to record this.
A huge thank you to Dorte and Eva for their work with the Loppis last weekend. They prove that MYP3 has the best parents and hardest working. This attitude is infectious and encouraging for both teachers and students so keep it up! Apologies for any parents that we missed out on.
Students in both classes are also fundraising for the class selling fine foods such as meat, cheeses, chocolates and oils. If you would like to sell or buy than ask your child. ONLY 5 DAYS LEFT!
There is a debate tomorrow (Wed 21st) at 0900 in the I&S room, between MYP4 students. If your child has a break during this time then they are welcome to come and watch. They will learn something!

Dear Parents,

                      Wow, what a start to the school year it has been. Im sure students and teachers alike are ready for next weeks break! It is a good chance to look at Managebac and see how the students are going. What are they doing well in? What do they need help with? These are all good conversations to have with the students and one of the positives of the continuous feedback. It is always better to prevent a problem than solve one! Make sure to check with child of any tasks they can catch up or work they need to complete during the break. Otherwise please relax and enjoy this time, ready to come back refreshed and ready to work till Christmas!

Rabbit Proof Fence

An examination of the film Rabbit Proof Fence, the reaction to it both by film reviewers and editorial op ed. Students should organise their analysis in such way that their essay portrays an objective response based on a critical position formed by reading and reflection.

Science - Research task - Infertility and IVF

Students will be tasked to research the issues regarding the problem of infertility and the how they can solve it using IVF (In vitro fertilization). They will need to produce an infographic-style poster that explains how the technology behind IVF works and why that makes it suitable for infertility. They will also need to consider the implications of using IVF technology on one other 'factor/knowledge area'. I will assess the task using Criterion D. The infographics need to be exported to a pdf file format and then uploaded to both Managebac and Google Classroom

In case of a fire alarm or any other emergency it is crucial we know where students are at all times. There have been a number of students leaving the school at lunch time which can cause a risk for many people.

Dear Parents,

Just a heads up! The MYP3's are keen to get some fundraising going in the next few months. This money will be going towards a class trip of some sort. The help we could use from parents will vary from donating items, cooking, selling or just helping set things up. None of this is mandatory by any means but all help would be greatly appreciated. 

Students were given a hard copy yesterday (Mon 24th) about a potential fundraiser on Sunday the 30th from 0800-1400. The students are running a loppis so any donation of clothes or time on the day would be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go towards the class. This is a student lead  initiative so support for this would be great!

Organising the data I collected (part I)

You will conduct an experiment about the effect of temperature on the rate of a chemical reaction. As part of this experiment there is a task sheet to complete. I will be formatively assessing you on the graph you produce. Think back to the previous lesson where we designed graphs and try to reproduce a similar idea.
